Shawn Elmer "Heavy" Carter Maples Obituary (1977 - 2023)

Shawn Elmer Carter- Maples 45, passed on Sunday January 8th 2023. Shawn affectionately known as heavy was born April 21 1977 to Timothy and Carrie Maples Sr. Heavy was raising his six year old niece after the passing of her mom and dad. He also helped raise his two nephews after the passing of their father. He loved music, domino's and dancing. Shawn is survived by his father Timothy(Milliah) Maples Sr., two nephews Tyler and Najhae Carter and one niece Tressa Carter and a host of aunts, uncles, cousin, family and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers Timothy Maples Jr., Christopher Catre Maples and grandparents Able & Elizabeth Carter and Shirley and Marian Maples. Heavy will truly be missed by all that loved him. The Public visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10am with funeral services following at 11am. All services will be held at Love Fellowship Church: 2636 SE Minnesota (Topeka).
