Nikki Sawyer Obituary (1993 - 2024)

Kathryn “Nikki” Sawyer, known as Nikki to those who love her, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 06, 2024, in Topeka, KS, at the age of 31. She was surrounded by family and friends wrapping her in their love & support. Nikki was born February 23, 1993, in Topeka, KS. She was blessed to be loved by many family & friends including Tom & Kathy Sawyer, who preceded her in death. Nikki is survived by her sons Ezra, Dakota, & Noah who were her world; Mother Heidi Kelsch; beloved siblings, Celestiana Feldhausen & Donovan Feldhausen; Brenda Becker; and Cody Sawyer & Meredith Sawyer; Grandparents Claire “Herbie” Hurlburt & Mary Hurlburt; the love of her life & soul mate, Paul Ward; Her Godmother, Trudy Pittenger; Aunts Amanda Fortner & Hope Faith Phillips, and Lucinda Davidson; Uncles Jamey Hare, Brandon Kelsch, & JC Bahr; a Great grandmother, Elaine Skeeter; several great aunts, a great uncle & many cousins. She was also blessed to have found an extended family in and is loved dearly by her 12-step Fellowships in Northeast Kansas, where she was dedicated to advocating for & helping so many others. Nikki loved writing poetry and has had 3 books published on Amazon. She enjoyed being outdoors in nature, playing sports, attending concerts, listening to music, and was always up for going on adventures. Mostly she loved spending time with her boys, her heart, her family & friends. Nikki was a force to be reckoned with from her first breath to her last. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, compassion, fierce determination, strong-yet humble spirit with an unwavering strength. Nikki touched the hearts of all who were blessed to have her in their lives. She is remembered for the light she brought into this world and the love she had for her sons, family, and friends. A celebration of life is scheduled for family & friends of Nikki for January 18, 2025, from Noon - 2:00 PM, at Lake Shawnee Shelter House #6.
